Terms & Conditions
The Site is free and needs no account. The styled text you generate is yours to use however you like, including commercially — those characters come from a public standard and we claim no ownership of them. In return, the Site is provided as-is: we cannot promise every style renders correctly on every device, because that depends on the device, not on us.

1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site. No registration is required, so your use of the Site is itself the acceptance.
If you are using the Site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation. If you are under the age at which you can form a binding contract where you live, you should use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
2. What the Site provides
FontClip converts text you type into styled Unicode characters that you can copy and paste elsewhere. It is important to understand what that is and what it is not:
- These are not font files. The Site does not create, sell, or distribute fonts in the sense of installable files such as .ttf, .otf, or .woff. Nothing is downloaded to your system.
- These are Unicode characters. The output consists of code points defined in the Unicode Standard — for example Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols (U+1D400), Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms (U+FF00), and Combining Diacritical Marks (U+0300).
- Everything runs in your browser. The conversion is performed on your device. Nothing you type is transmitted to us.
- The Site is free. There is no paid tier, no subscription, and no feature held back behind payment. Advertising funds the Site.
3. Your rights to the generated text
The characters produced by the Site are part of the Unicode Standard, a public specification. They are not our creative property and we do not claim ownership of them.
Accordingly, text you generate here is yours to use freely, including:
- In personal profiles, bios, usernames, captions, and messages;
- In commercial contexts — business profiles, product listings, marketing material, or client work;
- Worldwide, for as long as you like, with no attribution required and no licence fee.
We do not require credit, and we will not come after you for using the output. There is genuinely nothing here to license.
Two practical cautions that are about the wider world rather than about us: some advertising platforms reject unusual characters in ad copy or display names, and search engines and screen readers handle these characters poorly. Keep anything that must be searchable, indexable, or read aloud in plain text. See our Disclaimer for more on this.
4. Our intellectual property
While the generated characters are free of any claim by us, the Site itself is not. The following remain our property or that of our licensors, and are protected by copyright and other laws:
- The written content on this Site — the guides, compatibility notes, explanations, and comparisons on each page;
- The design, layout, and visual identity, including the FontClip name and logo;
- The generator’s source code, its style configuration, and the structure of its data.
You may quote briefly from our written content for commentary, criticism, or teaching, with clear attribution and a link back to the page. Wholesale copying of our pages, scraping the Site, or republishing our content as your own is not permitted. If you would like to reference the compatibility data at greater length, ask us — the answer is usually yes.
5. Acceptable use
The Site is a simple text tool and there is little scope for misuse, but to be clear, you agree not to:
- Use the Site or its output to harass, impersonate, defraud, or deceive anyone;
- Use styled characters to evade content moderation, spam filters, word filters, or safety systems on any platform;
- Attempt to interfere with the Site’s operation, probe it for vulnerabilities, or gain unauthorised access to any part of it;
- Use automated systems to scrape, mirror, or bulk-download the Site or its data;
- Remove, obscure, or interfere with any advertising served on the Site;
- Use the Site in a way that breaks any law that applies to you, or the terms of any platform you paste the output into.
That last point is worth emphasising. Instagram, TikTok, Discord, and others each have their own rules about display names and content. Using text generated here does not exempt you from them, and we have no involvement in how those platforms enforce their policies.
6. No warranty on rendering or compatibility
This deserves its own section because it is the most common source of disappointment with any tool of this kind.
Whether a styled character displays correctly depends on the device, operating system, app, and system fonts of the person viewing it. If their device has no font covering that Unicode block, they see an empty box, regardless of what you copied or where you got it. This is a limitation of the wider ecosystem, not a defect in the Site.
We publish compatibility information on each style page, and it is tested rather than guessed. Even so:
- We cannot guarantee any particular style renders on any particular device or app;
- Platforms change what they accept without notice, and a style that worked last month may stop working;
- Compatibility notes describe our testing at a point in time, not a permanent guarantee.
Test anything important on a second device before you publish it. If you find a style that has stopped working somewhere, telling us is genuinely useful — see the contact page.
7. Availability and changes to the Site
The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We aim to keep it online and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. It may be unavailable during maintenance, hosting problems, or circumstances outside our control.
We may add, change, or remove styles, tools, pages, and features at any time. Styles are occasionally revised when testing shows a character is unreliable or incorrectly mapped. Since nothing is stored in an account, such changes do not affect any text you have already generated and used.
8. Advertising and third-party content
The Site displays advertising, principally through Google AdSense. This is how a free tool with no accounts and no paid tier is funded.
Ads are selected and served by third parties, not by us. We do not review, endorse, or vouch for advertised products or services, and appearance of an ad on this Site is not a recommendation. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are strictly between you and them. How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out of personalised ads, is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy Cookie settings.
9. External links
Some pages link to external sites — the Unicode Consortium, Google’s policy and opt-out pages, and platform documentation, among others. These links are provided because they are useful. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and their inclusion is not an endorsement. Once you follow a link away from here, the terms and policies of that site apply instead of ours.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Site — including where styled text fails to display correctly, is rejected by a platform, or is not recognised by search or accessibility tools.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Font Clip and anyone involved in operating the Site against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of a third party or the rules of a platform you posted the output to.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: the generator runs in your browser, the text you type is never sent to us, and the only data collection comes from analytics and advertising cookies, all described there in detail.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time — if the Site gains a feature, if advertising arrangements change, or if the law requires it. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the Site after a revision means you accept it. Material changes will be made obvious rather than introduced quietly.
14. Governing law and severability
The Site is operated from Pakistan and is available internationally. Where a mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you rights or protections that cannot be waived by agreement, nothing in these Terms limits them, and those laws apply to you regardless of anything stated here.
If any provision of these Terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remaining provisions continue in full effect. A failure by us to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
15. Contact
Questions about these Terms, requests to reuse our content, or anything else legal in nature can be sent to info@fontclip.com, or through our contact page.
